What is Rescue? For many years, EEBHF has supported Basset Rescue Programs covering a wide area in Oregon and Washington. The goal of rescue programs is to take in purebred Basset Hounds from situations which cause them to suffer physically or emotionally, and/or will lead to their death. After confirming that these dogs are in good health, they are spayed or neutered (if necessary), and placed in appropriate homes where they can live out a healthy and happy life. The way that is done is through a network of dedicated volunteers. There is always in need of new foster families, people who can transport bassets from one location to the other, and prospective new adoptive homes.
