What is Rescue?

For many years, EEBHF has sponsored a Basset Rescue Program covering a wide area in Oregon. The goal of our rescue program is to take in purebred Basset Hounds from situations which cause them to suffer physically or emotionally, and/or will lead to their death. After confirming that these dogs are in good health, they are spayed or neutered (if necessary), and placed in appropriate homes where they can live out a healthy and happy life. The way we do this is through a network of dedicated volunteers. We are always in need of new foster families, people who can transport bassets from one location to the other, and prospective new adoptive homes.
